Our Story
Alpine Sky Golden Retrievers is a small family-oriented hobby breeder located in Raleigh, NC. Our love for English Cream Golden Retrievers began with an earnest search for a great family dog. We needed a dog that was kid-friendly and trainable, with a calm, gentle temperament so we began looking for breeds that had characteristics compatible with our lifestyle.
Because we enjoy hiking, lake and beach time, we wanted a dog that loved water and exercise. It was also key that the dog not be a barker since we work from home. After much research, we settled on the English Cream Golden Retrievers, which was the perfect fit for us.
We searched for months for a quality male from a responsible small family breeder, and finally found him. In 2008, we fell completely in love with our first boy, Kozmo, with his gentle, sweet nature and happy go lucky attitude. He loves everyone, especially children, and we were immediately passionate about the breed. We added Holly to our family and, in 2014, our extended dog family began to form with our first litter going to carefully selected friends and neighbors.

After witnessing the enrichment of so many lives, we were inspired to continue sharing our special dogs with more families as well as the broader community.
Leveraging their gentle and sweet temperaments, we began certifying our dogs as Therapy Dogs and many of our puppy families certified their dogs as well over the years as Therapy Dogs and some as Emotional Support Animals. We also place our puppies with animal assisted therapists. All are an important part of each of their families.
This has been a rewarding experience for our families, the dogs, and the individuals receiving the comfort and joy our dogs share with everyone.
Over the years, our puppy families have evolved into a dog community that stays connected, sharing stories about their pups in our puppy group chats or on our Alpine Sky Goldens Facebook Group.
